Making things easier
is the whole point
Technology is supposed to make things easier. That is the entire idea. A truck carries what a person cannot carry. A plane crosses distances a person could never walk. Every tool we have ever built is an extension of something a human wanted to do and could not.
Then you arrive in crypto, where the stated purpose is to open things up, and almost everything is harder than it needs to be.
I started Fiftysix because I kept running into the same wall in different places. Running a blockchain node needed developer-level knowledge, so most people never ran one. Competing to settle trades needed a company, passports and a bond, so a developer with working code could not take part. Quoting prices needs incorporation papers or posted capital, and neither of those tells you whether a price is any good.
Every time, the hard part was not the technology. It was who was allowed near it.
So we build the parts that make it easier. We operate a solver on CoW Protocol and build the open source software beneath it, from node tooling to backtesting. We track everything we learn and use it to expand the solver space, and the infrastructure behind it, for the teams that come next.
We are a small team. We work with people we trust, and we take on things we can see through.
There is a lot of room at the top. We would rather get there with people than ahead of them.
We also advise a few founders and companies, in crypto and outside it.
